Strap for Hobbs question

The other week I thought of something.

We've had the Hobbs LD since maybe 2001 and it still has the original strap.

I should purchase a new one, like 3 years ago probably.

Anyway, it's $72 in Sherrill.

Why?

Is it some special more heavy duty strap than a usual truck cargo strap?

27' x 4" truck cargo winch straps with Delta ring sell for around $15.00. break strength around 24,000lbs, working load 8,000. (most are 15,000lb and working load 5,000lb).

Is the one that comes with the Hobbs any stronger? I'm doubting it.

just wanted to ask before I ordered one.

X, as far as I know, the Hobbs strap is just a heavy duty truck cargo strap, nothing special.

Hold off on ordering one from Sherrill's, I'll check with Ed Hobb's and Don Blair tomorrow.
