Storm work

I removed one tree and 2 large branches from houses today and also removed a large blue spruce. Not all of the jobs entailed a crane but I am going to put all the pictures here.

3800 lb, maybe more...spruce wood is light, but the brush is pretty heavy. looks like .5-.75 cord of wood plus 6 yards of chips, so it could have weighed 4500 lb...
Here's a dead western white pine....filled the truck with chips, 17 yards, plus we saved some branch butts...so figure 9000 lb worth of chips, maybe less cause pine is light, and this one had lost most of its sap. The wood likely weighed another 10000 lb--we left a 12 foot habitat snag, the last cut was about 32 inches.

Another. This was the first job working with Mike's sweet new 23 ton boom truck, with 104 feet of reach. He is still the best deal around, at $100 per hr, but only $35 trip charge!

Ha, I knew everyone else guessed too low....thought I'd be closer than I was, but not knowing the dbh makes it hard.

Anytime I bid a spruce, I figure a big premium over most any other similar sized tree.

Here's a shot from today's Seafair hydro races and air show, this is the Blue Angels. We were in the top of a big old atlas cedar. Bunches of pics at MB's site.
