Stolen Saws --- Reward!!

The chains are the best bet for preventative measures. A Plague is exactly what we have going on.

We had saws in a bucket in one of the yards and the thieves threw a rope over the boom, hooked it to a truck, and tried to flip the truck over. After that didn't work, they cut the hydraulic lines hoping the boom would drop, whick it didn't. So now we have saws but the trucks have been vandalized.

What a mess. Thanks again to everyone and I'll keep you all posted if we catch them!

If the trucks are in a storage lot - put up cameras and motion lights. Place signs every 10' letting everyone know the property is under surveillence. As far as cameras, if money is an issue (which it always is) get 1-2 good cameras and put up 5 or more "dummy" cameras. If all else fails - get a couple big, mean as$ dogs.

Dayum man, 70 saws? That's crazy. If you figure an average of $500 a saw, that's $35,000. Was this all done at the yard? If so, I think it's time to invest in a parking building with alarms. I would rather spend $35k putting up a garage than having a chance of replacing saws yet again.

Heck, if your company doesn't want to pay someone else, there's a multitude of steel building shells for sale on ebay. A quick check in the @ $35k range shows me a 60x125x16 steel building for $37,999.

Tool trucks that stay in the foreman's garage?

Worked on my crew for a very long time.

That's a great idea, I've wanted to do it but I'm one truck/driver short: 1 guy in the bucket, one in chip truck, one in 3500 dually wood truck, no one to drive a tool truck. Damn.
