Still looking...6\" bandit...

Well, still looking for a good 6" bandit, but haven't found one yet...so I know this place in London Ontario that imports used 6" vermeers from USA all the time... 2007's for about $5000 grand...I'm thinking about getting one to use while i wait for a good bandit, then I'll dump it...I'm just a small business so don't need anything bigger then 6", but not too excited about the idea of getting a 6" Vermeer...just beats piling brush on a trailer...I just thought I would check here again first before I make the drive to London...

So, if anyone has a 6" bandit or has a good lead on one please let me know....

Thanks in advance guys,
Ken

Re: Still looking...6\" bandit...

P.S. I remember reading on here about some people who have made some minor modifications to the bc600xl to improve the machine (if possible, lol). Like disabling the feed wheel automatic shut off system (I think)...so if you know any tricks I would be glad to learn about them and hear from you or get a link to that info...P.S. Sorry guys just realized that this post might have been more appropriate for the treebay thread...oops.

Thanks,
Ken

Ken I ended up buying a 2007 bandit 65xl with the 35 Briggs 3 weeks ago for an island job we are doing, on day 8 tomorrow, only had a 100hrs on it, paid $10500. Hands down its 100 times better then the Vermeer 6"! My 12" chipper was too heavy to tow around the island and we have gotten the 65 in some tight spots reducing the length we had to drag brush. I am not used to using a 6" chipper after running my 12" for so long, but it's a great little chipper and now I have a back up chipper also. My local dealer was going to sell me a new one for $13,500 which wasn't bad either. Anyways keep looking for the bandits it'll be worth it!

Re: Still looking...6\" bandit...

I'm going to try to hold out as long as possible for a bandit and start a hunt for one, and I'll try and post if and when I find one...so if anyone reading this has one or knows someone that does, let me know...because if this is my last post then I may still be looking

Re: Still looking...6\" bandit...

Well, bought my first chipper today! Special to for me...sure some on here might laugh because it won't chip a 24" log! But I'm just a little fishy in the tree service business, so it looks like it'll work okay for me...it's a salsco 8420...big enough for the brush and the rest is firewood where I live...

To all those who posted...thanks for your input and leads...
