Stihl MS200-Greatest Saw Ever!

[ QUOTE ]
I have heard the Stihl sales reps. are jerks too. I can't think of another tool I have that can pay for itself as fast as a MS200 can.

Exactly..........
Why bitch about the price when it can allow you to clear $1K in a day?

He doesn't like the price tag.......
Everyone I have known that says they like there Husky is because they have not owned Stihls or dont like the price tag of owning a Stihl.

And there is the fact that all the Stihl dealers around here have VERY shitey customer service and an "elitest" attitude.

Sorry collins, but I prefer the huskys--lighter, a bit more reach....and at least as much power. While the 200 is well balanced, I do not like the carb box where it is. The 335 is better as it has a couple inches more reach if you grasp it all the way back. ( the Echo 3400 shone in this regard.) The shaped rear allows for easier movement through brushy canopies. The lanyard tie in is far better. The 200 starter handle is too close to the engine side, which makes it hard to grasp sometimes when switching hands.
The Husky springs for anti vib are great. Not so good is the flimsy plug cover...an easily remedied minor problem. The muffler cover also is flimsy, another minor point. The reliability of starting and running and longevity is much improved over the old 335's. I should know, I've had them since they came out. Resisted the 020T due to their cost, as my 020 Supers were also overpriced, and the quality control on them wasn't exemplary or consistent. Granted the early 335's were lousy. Not now though, however, my lone 338 is underwhelming, even though it has been woods modded by Dan Henry. My 335 Cali's, when muffler modded, have more torque than a 200T and cut about the same. My muffler modded 335, now 3 years old, which came to me in pieces from Rich Hoffman for $40, still walks all over a 200T with screen removed, and starts and runs reliably every time it's called upon.
Mind you, if I do a full muffler mod on the 200T, it will perk up and maybe win that race. Overall, the 200's have a better overall engine design which is usually quite reliable and long lasting, and also responds to full engine mods much better than the Huskys do.

And yet in how many generations of the saw has that flaw been present. Nothing like duct tape to keep the plug cover on.
