Stein Arbor-Trolley

So any more word Reg on date for US arrival.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't want to speak for Reg, but I believe that there is no current (or anticipated) date on when they will be in the US.

I believe that the overseas shipping cost would be too expensive. What I have talked to Reg and Stein USA about doing, is getting a US fabricator to build them here to Reg's specs. and save on the overseas costs.

If enough people contact Stein about this, they may be able to move forward with this idea.

Interesting idea. But, I can see for a lot of complications there. If anything, I wonder if Reg would have to apply for a U.S. patent to move forward with your idea Chris.

Then the whole can of worms is... who gets awarded to build them?

Hi Guys,

Firstly thanks for your continued interest in the product. Some may think it is quite simple to produce a product like this but i can assure you it is harding than it looks. Over the last few months we have been fighting many price rises in raw product and components to ensure it is not over priced (here in the UK anyway) The good news it we should be taking delivery of the first batch next week which sorry they are all sold and spoken for this side of the water. Once we are happy with the UK production and that is running soothly we can then start to look further afeild. Please bear with us and as soon as i have information regarding the product supply for the US Market, you guys will be the first to hear.

These things are always complicated Jamin, but we'll get there. The trolley is already protected by Registered Design, so no worries in that respect either.

FWIW, my initial part in the process is relatively easy....but what follows on the part of the folks behind Stein in financing/setting up the production chain and all the hassle that entails is quite the task. Credit where its due.

Hi

Can You tell me where I can buy an Arbor-trolley right now in UK?
I´ve been on Honey brothers website, but they don´t have any in stock.
I really need one within 3 weeks.
I live in Denmark.

Lots of treehugs
Brian

Nice design. Always wanted a dual purpose trolley vs. a log dolly. According to the vid the max load is over 1000 lbs?

With the single tipping point is it prone to having pieces roll out to one side or the other when dealing with unbalanced weight?

[/ QUOTE ]

Not that Ive noticed, and not from any feedback that Ive heard. With the double wheel and the fact that the logs sit relatively low to the axle, it got a very sturdy feel to it.
A guy from Theocus Arboricultural Services in the UK posted this photo on another forum just recently, quite an awkward looking lump in in itself. He's a pretty cool guy so I'm sure he wont mind me borrowing the image. The way to get these long sections on board is to scoop them in i.e. a log-dolly, and then spin them around while they're sat on the frame.

To answer your earlier question, I heard that a handful were going to the US off the next batch, of which several had been sold and one was to be retained with a view to copying and producing in the US with immediate effect. So good news on that front. Thanks
