They definetly are NOT saw proof as many think.I would rather just see steel core lanyards done away with. Archaic in my book and I feel they give people a false sense of security. Haven't climbed on one for years.
I don't feel any safer with steel core but I like the way it holds its shape on spars but that's meI would rather just see steel core lanyards done away with. Archaic in my book and I feel they give people a false sense of security. Haven't climbed on one for years.
Good points that's why I'm going to try to actually contact some company reps to roll ideas if I can.Good work Kevin. I just started reading these threads. and I hate to put in my 2 cents after the request, but why not go from black tubing to no tubing? Like evo said. Fix the problem. I posted 2 cents of ideas on the other thread on this. But seriously great start Kevin. And I'd say I do feel a little safer with a steel core. Your not that likely to hit it like in that video. You are likely to hit it with enough to cut a rope through but not through the steel. You likely feel it and react. I'd hate to be wrong but wasn't last years white pine lanyard cut, Ontario fatality a rope cut? Or was it 2013?
