Starting truck after winter...

My truck won't start!!! It hasn't run since December (about 3 months) and has been stored outside. Went to start it today so I plugged a booster pack on one battery and booster cables from the truck on the other battery. To my surprise the truck turned over fine but still didn't want to start. I put a 5 gallon tank of fresh fuel in after thinking maybe that was the problem and still didn't want to go. Tried pluging the block heather, no luck.

A guy told me I should try spraying a shot of ether in the air filter. I read this can be real bad for the glow plugs so didn't do it. From what I understand, the glow plugs could be the problem. Anyone got any tricks? BTW its a 2000 GMC 3500HD 6.5 turbo diesel.

You don't use either on glow plug engines. Bad bad.

I'd say fresh fuel filters too, drain the water separator if there's one, or a drain on the bottom of the fuel tank.

DITTO...

Has it been cold recently? Maybe the fuel is gelled. When my fuel gelled I had luck with 9-1-1 from powerservice. Just fill the filter and pour the rest in the tank.
Maybe even look at the glow plug relay/fuse (unsure how GMC does it). I wouldnt think all the plugs would go bad at once.

I would change your filters anyways if you haven't already. If 911 worked, then your fuel had moisture in it. Don't want to state the obvious either, but oil change. A steel block sitting through temperature change will create moisture, and that will be in your oil.

Just preventative stuff...

Ya I'll change my filter when I change my oil in the coming days (weeks?), I already have it bought. I did put some fuel conditionner when I filled her up at the gas station, just to be safe.
