SRT Line Question

Location

I'll be heading to Sierra Leone for a month on a water system installation project. I'll be in the rain forest - I'm wondering what the lightest good SRT line is. The trees are tall (200'-275') and branches starting in the 80'-100' area. I need light weight for baggage/weight concerns. I currently use Velocity and Tachyon for SRT.

thanks

Agreed.

Will you ONLY be doing SRT? The above rope doesn't work well if you switch to DRT while in the canopy. If I were doing that I would use Blaze or a similar line.

thanks guys -

appreciate the help. i'll SRT to the first branches and then switch to DbRT to move around - so i plan on taking another line for that.

peace,

He said he currently uses Tachyon.

Regarding stowage, I have a 200 ft HTP access line that fills 1/2 of my rope bag. In an identical bag I have 150 ft of Tachyon which fills it to about 3/4s. And certainly weighs more. How much more? I couldnt say.

Id go with HTP.

Does HTP make a good DdRT rope?

My KMIII and TAchyon are both 7/16"/11mm nominal diameter.

If I bagged up my 3/8" KMIII I'm sure there would be a similar weight/volume difference.
