Squirrel vs RC

Gottal love that panic attempt to burrow through the end of the plastic tube.
Slo-Mo was great. You can see how they use their tails to re-orient themselves in midair. Have to admit, those things have blinding fast reflexes. I stood in the driveway and watched a very young squirrel stealing apples off of one of our smaller trees. I was four feet away, and he barely paid any attention to me. Even though he was young and dumb, he was astoundingly graceful in the tree. At one point he was hanging from one front foot and using the other three to get an apple off the branch.

My wife is a field biologist, I met her in the Yukon, near Hanes Junction. She was studying squirrels for the University of Alberta. The study has been continuous since the mid 80s. They have learned many interesting things about them. They steal, murder and rape. They display cannibalistic behaviour! They have territorial wars! They harvest crops and store them and dry mushrooms in trees. They are influenced by the environment just like predicted. They live much like we do.
