Splicing tenex with locked brummel

How long does the bury need to be after you do a locked brummel? Trying to figure out how to make a prussuk loop for competition climbing to be used in the aerial rescue scenario for a buddy of mine. The design is a prussuk on a double rope for footlocking and then an eye on the other end of the prussuk to splice a ring. Your climbing rope goes thru the ring with a regular ddrt climbing setup. this ring need to be as close to the prussuk knot as possible.

this should go in the splicing forum. But, all you need to do is take your normal eye & eye friction hitch cord, tie your chosen knot clip it into a karabiner, possibly with a micro pulley, and put your DDrt system into the micro pulley. but be sure to spike the line once you want to work DDrt off it. With only the regular eye & eye cord you are not limited as to what you can do with it.

Why not call Samson Rope, tell them what you intend to do, and ask their recommendations?
Are you talkin about a Buck friction saver ring?
Sounds like some specialty splicing involved. Get the manufacturers reco's.

You goin to Appleton Saturday for the TCC?

Ya I'll be in appleton on saturday

the problem with using a carabiner is running a climbing system off of it. kinda frowned upon by the climbing community. using this system did come up in a discussino between us but the krab was the main concern.

I will be using the 10mm yellow single carrier tenex to make this. i believe using a 1/2 fid would be the proper size for measuring. I'll throw something together and let norm give me the nay or yay approval :-)
