Splicing 10mm OP

I've been doing a lot of splicing today and one of the things I spliced up was a roughly 30" 10mm Oceans Polyster eye an eye hitch cord. I used a standard double braid splice on it(like 10mm bee line).

Out of everything I've ever spliced, this stuff had to be about the toughest out there. It all goes well and easy until burying the core. It just flat out sucks. 2/3 of my time doing the splice was just spent on burying the core. Any tips on making it easier? I plan on making another one possibly if I have enough rope left, and possibly making it longer.

I recommend NOT splicing the stuff in short lengths! If you want hitch cord just order it stitched. 30" is too short for a length for a double braid eye to eye anyway.

Keep tension on the eye while running it home. Also, make sure you firmly stitch the crossover to make it more compact and to keep it together while finishing the splice.
