Splice Station Pics

I don't want this to come across wrong, but I get by with very little...not much more than what you have pictured. If I had a nice shop, or out-building, I would make something much more substantial. I would build a HEAVY bench out of wood I milled, and bolt it to the floor. It would be at a nice height, with "recipie markings" scribed in, and a meter stick flushed into one edge. It would have attachment points built into peg holes in multiple places, a nice vice, and a stitching system station. I'd also want a filing cabinet, and nice storage shelves. A nice stereo system...LOTS of natural light, maybe a wood stove, and a mini fridge.

That pretty much describes my setup minus the cage with the full bossomed women who dances all night long (compulsive) which fills in a bit for the few breaks I take.

In a cage!?...I wouldn't have expected that from such a nice guy like you, Bob!

Matt, forget the chalk and use safety pins. Also there are sharpies that are retractable with a clicking mechanism on the back of the marker.

Up there with the wheel and pizza as one of mankinds best invention.

I worked in an upholstery shop for a few years in highschool and we allways used chalk as it was easy to clean off of most all fabrics. Im going to try it...sharpies are the devil.

Tell me how the chalk works out. Seems like a good idea to me. I need to pick up some safety pins to try too but I was wondering, aren't there times during the splice where those could get in the way?

Yea they can but also really don't. I just use the safety pins on the parts (cover) that can be seen at the end of the splice. For the core markings I use a marker. Just understand when you don't need that safety pin mark anymore, then take it out.

mattbever, thank you for actually posting pics. was hoping we'd get more ideas from this thread but apparently everybody's SKkkeeeeeerd... (:

Ya I really was looking forward to some sweet ideas from some of the the most incredible and talented doods on the planet, but apparently they are just a bunch of sandbaggers...hoarding all the good splicing station ideas for themselves. Heres to hoping they will pony up. Pics of full boosomed women will be accepted for further review(:

Man I wish I could've gone! I live out in Colorado. It's so fun to do and it was obvious how much fun you all were having in those pictures. Very cool.

Here is a picture of my view from the couch I sit on when I splice. Notice the rock climbing bolt hanger on the wall for my pulling point for final buries, wood stove, view of trees outside, and tree porn taped to the wall. All very critical.
