spiderjack or zigzag ?

I have tried the lockjack/rw combo and i thought it was unsafe also. I have been thinking about the spiderjack, especially for crane work.

I have both a lockjack and spiderjack, I prefer the lockjack for crane work as the spiderjack requires some support to self tend which makes it very annoying when you're constantly retying every time you make a cut.
