Southern Pines Dying from the bottom up???

What is going on with the Pine trees in Arkansas?? In recent observations I have noticed alot of Pines dying from the bottom up. Pines usually die from the top down, why is this happening? Maybe you guys could share a little usefull info on this.

Hmm, only thing I know of is diplodia tip blight that will start on the lower limbs. Is the specise you mentioned affected by this?
