Songs of Perfection

RIP Gordon Lightfoot, just happened. I saw him 30 years ago and he was old then. Took about 5 songs to get his voice going. 2nd guitar Red Shea, bass and minimal drums was his classic sound. Edit- Forgot about his stint with steel guitar. Was enjoyable. Beer drinking, get the words mixed up Well the liquor was fast and the women oops! Red Shea is gone a number of years too.

For those guys

This is my favorite recording of all time !

The Köln Concert is a live recording of solo piano improvisations performed by Keith Jarrett at the Opera House in Cologne on 24 January 1975. The double-vinyl album was released in 1975 by ECM.

This version is played instead by Tomasz Trzcinski.
The original entire concert is 1 hr, 6 min.
Song 1 is my favorite; it’s 26 min. (be patient); entirely improvised !

I think the original EMC recording is better; but this is a very good intro.
Some increased volume is recommended ‘cause there are some very soft passages.
The better your sound system, the better this will sound. Enjoy !

Keith Jarett has lots of trio recordings, which I am not really a fan of. (that's just me; NOT his trio's)

However, I think his Solo work is OUTSTANDING !

A number a years ago he had some health issues (mental ???); but he recovered and is back.

Thanks for this reference ! :sisi:
Just ordered the DVD

Simon and Garfunkel for me are well known cause of the movie "The Graduate" (Dustin Hoffman et al). Really great songs for soulful people. Nevertheless I like this version of "Sound of silence". It's harder but still soulful.

In 1967, my college (Case Inst. of Tech) Freshman English Prof. made us go see "The Graduate" at a local movie theater ! !
