some climbing with Dave Matthews Band

Great video! Interesting rigging off your saddle with a mounter... I usually use a sling with a binder on the stem, if self lowering limbs. I would be a little nervous having it connected to my saddle.

Thanks for that! What was the reason you decided to rig to your saddle? You were natural crouching anyway, how come you didn't just take a wrap or two? Though I would personally go with a sling and biner too. Don't take my questioning as smart alleking( new word?) , I'm honestly interested in your decision. :)

I have no problem with anyone asking questions. I too would just place a sling and biener to the tree in all other cases. On this tree it was the only thing that I had to lower out. It wasnt that big or heavy of a limb but big enough that I didnt want to cut and hold it with one hand (and a snap cut most likely would have snaped before I would have liked). Looking back though it wasnt like I had saved any time doing it this way due to messing with the biener (it was to small for the munter). But I find a few things out when I go back and watch it at the end of the day on film. I think it is a great way to self eval your own work. Back to the Munter though, I had really put it on the vid due to it not being a very well known or used tool in the bag for alot of climbers/ground guys that I have seen. Although it is a very popular climbing tool for most other climbing worlds.

I guess it would be a good idea to put a vid up of how to use a Munter, do's and dont's..... could be some good stuff there.

Right on! Rigging only one limb, I could see the appeal of just biner and munter off the saddle. Interesting thought, I really don't see the munter being used all that often either, but for small rigging applications its as easy a can be!
