Anyone else experience near totality? It was cloudy and it was just like sunset. Automatic porch lights were turning on. Bit of a freaky experience giving a glimpse into the psyche of stonehenge dudes and the like. I said to my customer " somebody turned off the lights".

Same here. Spent the day at home with the family then headed out for quotes afterwards. They closed schools today due to the expected tourist traffic, as we were right in the path. cell phone pick at 100X magnification.

had a 90 second totality here, brought my gopro today and took a timelapse from about 2:45-3:30pm. but i forgot my usb-c cable at work so ill have to process and upload the video tomorrow

2 minutes of totality in my backyard with the wife and kids. A surreal experience that we'll never forget.

Cloudy here, and only 20%, if anything it was like a thicker cloud blew by.
Got to see the 2017 one and it was wild, nothing like the shadows in the dappled shade of our cherry tree.

Peepers started up 3:20pm then stopped 1/2hr later, pretty neat

We had about 3 and a half minutes of totality here.

There were saying traffic would be bad, but almost no one was on the road when I was out this morning doing some bids and work at the shop.

It was cool, but certainly nothing that will have any lasting impact.

On an unrelated side note: when I was at the shop I saw 3 (maybe 4 - or was that the same one twice?) ringneck pheasants in the fence row. It's probably been 3 years since I've seen one around here.

We were only expected to get partial...+/-80%...coverage.

Turns out we had 100% cloud cover so nothing to experience

There are FB memes popping up to collect Eclipse Glasses to send them to schools in South America to prepare for eclipses next year

I always grab my arc welding helmets for viewing.NOT gas glasses.

I think here it got to around 50% totality, and the sunlight did feel less intense on the skin. I had my concrete poured during the totality, which felt pretty cosmic

Just East of Cleveland, OH (Chardon) had 3 min 50 sec of totality.
My neighbor, a policeman, gave me glasses that same morning.

We watched from our Back porch this time.
My son went to Ohio with his girlfriend to see the totality, so this has been the second totality he has seen in his young life.
(we went to SC to see the one in 2017). I have now seen 2 partial and 1 totality.

I'm kind of kicking myself for not traveling for the one a few years back, as it wasn't too far away. It was pretty trippy at my place though, despite being a good distance from the actual path. Yesterday I was half way across the continent, certainly didn't notice any changes at all.
