Soil

I've read "A New Tree Biology" and "An Illustrated Guide To Pruning" by Gilman. What other books would you suggest? I would especially like a book on soil. Tom, good luck on the job search.

Over at Penn there's a good bunch of folks compiliing e-line information on soils, I know Roger Koide. http://aginfo.psu.edu/psa/w2002/soils.html

Also a wonderful book to start one thinking about the importance and ecology of soils is by one of the guys who wrote Secret Life Of Plants, Peter Tompkins. It's called Secrets Of The Soil. It includes some metaphysical passages but those are the good parts in my opinion.

Soils are to the trees what food is to us, yet even science often separates and isolates them apart. Especially disease work.
