in two years i'm going srt, ie some sort of rope walker set up. i'm going to old school it for awhile right now though. taken it back to the old school, cause i'm a new fool and its too cool......... sometimes it's best to go back to the basics and practice the fundamentals. set a line fl up, climb tree, set climbing system do work, come down, remove system, and repeat. this all stems from my crappy performance in the master at tntcc. if i would have stuck to the basics and just climbed the tree the way i would have at work, i would have finished all the stations and pulled my gear. instead i finished two stations and pulled my gear. in retrospect it was because: i over thought the tree. so i'm taking it back to the old school for a minute even going to ride a suislide on a short tie off dry crotched just to retrain myself on the fundamentals of rope management and get that back to the old school mentality. i seriously would have eaten this tree on a regular basis, but nerves, over thinking, and lack of trust in my fundamentals caused me not to perform to my potential. for far to long i have relied upon some sort of ascender system be it rope walker, frog walker, mar bars, pantins, or doubled petzels. as wes hopper would say "take a few steps back and think about it, then you'll end up better off than you were before". i'm applying this strategy to alot of different areas off my life right now and it seems to be working well.
