smaller zig zag

So, I don't have the double teardrop yet, but this is the Compact Bulldog OAR. It is 11.4 oz. made from stainless steel, nickel plated friction links, and 7075 alloy aluminum teardrop. It is 3.5 inches from the top pivot to the teardrop biner hole. As the top arm swings up when weighted, then If you first pull the bottom arm all the way down and hold it with your thumb, then the middle arm can be modulated very finely for release, both for SRS and MRS.

I think that functionality would have to be done with a swivel underneath the OAR in conjunction with the double teardrop.

The size and weight are excellent. Especially using SRS with no chicane! Will it self tend rope slack like a spider jack or zigzag in MRS configuration? How does descent rope friction compare SRS and MRS?

Maybe not quite as good, but close. I have installed a nano swivel on the OAR, but I see that because the nano has a shoulder, it will not pivot nearly as far up as the teardrop which is necessary to allow self tending from the bottom of the spine. In short the teardrop is required for self tending. The release on the rope seems to be quite similar for both SRS and MRS.

If anyone is gonna purchase anything from Mr. Gu I would strongly suggest putting on some HAZMAT gloves before you wipe the item down with copious amounts of bleach and rubbing alcohol. A night in the woodburner certainly couldn't hurt either... I'm pretty sure Mr. Gu has H.A.G.S, which as we alll know is a real mutherfucker to get rid of.....
I just got my ZigZag from @JeffGu. Walk me thru this, @rico :D
