sling grade tenex

I like to splice my own slings and was wondering where you guys buy the tenex by the foot. I know wesspur has it, just wondering if there are any good deals out there.

Just wanted to pass along that I did call Knot & Rope Supply and they were terrific. Very friendly and easy to deal with. Thanks for the tip.

I wish that I would have got a slice kit befor the winter! I was planning on getting one and learning how over the long boring winter!

This is funny as I just ordered a bunch of 1/2" and 5/8" tenex today!

Put a few eyes in some amsteel blue I had around and said, gosh, I gotta start making my own slings, this is too easy!

Anyone know where to pick up the larger size whipping twine? I ordered the tenex from wesspur, but they only carry the smaller sized waxed twine.

Yes, it is fine time for a Symposium!!!! Somewhere in New England would be great. I have tons of things i want to pass by some more experienced splicers. And be shown how to splice from a live instructor, not a video!!

hey jeff, if you just use some strands of the tenex itself from the taper or cut a small length of cord and have a bunch of strands to play with, use those strands to lock stitch then whip with the small waxed whipping twine, this is the process i use, works great.

I use #18 nylon braided mason line. Most hardware stores have it. $6.00 US for 250'. Comes in white, yellow or neon pink.

Or like Rookie said, you can use a strand of the line you're splicing as well.

I use old throwline to lock stitch the large tenex as I have gotten knots or tangles I have cut some have gotten shorter so they get put to whipping.
