The windstorms have really farked with my skiing and ski photography, dang it...4 days is all I've gotten in since Dec 14...and that just plain sucks....though the skiing did go to pot 3 weeks ago.....

So, for your viewing enjoyment, here's a few from TG weekend at Whistler/Blackcomb. Models are JD and Alex, sponsored riders and some of the best big mountain skiers and competitors around these days....

JD in deep and lovin' it...

sweet sequence of Alex. I wish we coulda dropped the cliff, but there was another cliff below it that was to big and access back to the main area looked tough. We were a bit out of bounds here....uhoh...

you lucky devil Roger, 4 days is 4 more than I've done this year. Awsome pics as ever.

A week later, at Alpental, we had some more fun....

Bryce Phillips, going small, for him anyhow. He owns the cool store evogear.com..and has been a big time ski model and photo slut for years. First time I've skied with and shot him. A real pro. He makes it look effortless.

Nice shots, shoot a couple of movie clips next time, especially if there are some wipeouts!

Bryce skied this line last year, which is insane boardering on ridonculous...but it wasn't a first descent. Big name icon Andrew McLean did it back in the early '90's...and its had at least two other descents, both by slowboarders... Some call it "Eat [censored] and die" He even wrote a one page story that ran in Powder a couple months ago.

See snowboarder about halfway down...

or, "Kevorkian" which is pretty danged steep (55 degrees?) and narrow. I've skiied neither of these.....they are both in the back country near Alpental. The main ski area, and its patrolled bc has more gnar than just about any area anywhere.

hmm, photobucket links aren't embedding...

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh,

We finally got dumped on....and I got up for 3 hours this afternoon. We had a 2 day job in Sultan, on the way to Stevens Pass. As soon as the critical work was done, I beat feet up there. Skiied 4 out of bounds runs, every turn untracked 2-3 feet deep! Last run, hooked up with 3 locals, 2 of them pro patrollers. We hiked 30 minutes up a ridge, then skiied 2000 vert to the highway. The local areas received 2-5 feet of snow since Friday morning.

What's his name, hl?....i'll check out his results. If he travels with the A and B team, he's prolly partied with Julia Mancusco, who is a hair away from winning the overall Wrold Cup. a first for the women's alpine team since Squaw Valley's Tamara McKinney back in '85. I met her in Tahoe about '92...That gal rips!

I managed to squeeze in three more awesome powder days before it warmed up saturday. Thursday at Alpental was one of my best days ever there, easily top 10, maybe top 5. 44 inches of unconsolidated powder, the top 20 inches fresh and very light. Simply amazing. It was even deeper and lighter at Crystal Thurs and even Friday according to my buds' reports...but I had to work. led the log truck to 4 sites and 2 more log loads. I did ski the previous Sunday aT crystal, and was treated to 3 feet of fabulous snow, and the day before at Alpental which also rocked.
