SJ3 vs. HC

I use both often, they are very different. There is nothing instinctual about the SJ3; a lot of time needs to be devoted to learning the function of the device, low and slow. Once you put in the time, it’s a lot of fun, and very fast. Definitely my favorite for production removals and crane. SRT with the hitch climber on the tail for everything else.

Rope guide twin line also takes some practice for retrieval with the soft eye, but is a great tool with multiple applications. Love it for spar/crane work with the 15’ sling. Definitely want to run that SJ on a pulley up top, otherwise it won’t self block very well.

Anybody that has used both the Spiderjack 3 and the Hitch Climber system, how do the two compare?

Any tips on transitioning from HC to SJ3?
Not the 3 but the 2.1 dyneema version. There’s a weird counterintuitive where on a hitch you set your hitch/ease into it and spidey jack basically you let it go and it bites. If you ease into setback, will not set. What got me more used to it was the art lanyard adjuster. Similar concept although lanyard adjuster grabs everytime.
