Single, Double, Rope walker

This is a video that I have been wanting to make. A very simple rope walker system that has been working well for me. As stated in the video it works better when two static lines are used instead of a static and a semi static ropes. But it has its advantages in this way as well. Basic set up is a single line set up with an alpine butterfly installed so it ends up just over the top of the crotch. the second line is attached to this knot (with knot or biner) and pulled up through the crotch (to allow you to achieve the crotch). There is a grigri on the base of the tree to allow for rescue with the primary rope set up in an endless loop. The double ascender backs itself up with the parallel lines. got to get a left legged pantin. looked fast. id like to see how you are moving your feet. like walking or together. cool.

Im gonna try it with a right and left single handled ascender and the 2 pantins.I thought about doing this for awhile, looks pretty cool.

I have been using this for a couple three months off and on. It is extremely fast. In the video I mentioned that the croch was 50 feet or so (guess). It wound up being around 65' (as measured with my rope). It only took about 60 seconds to hike to the top. My legs are moving independent of each other as if you were walking up a ladder or stairs, thats why the ascender is moving so much. Every other time I move it up, is the same leg stepping down. Now some of the time saved in the climb is lost in set up, but for open clear climbs (such as we have here) it is great. I would say anything short of 50 feet would be wasteing time setting it up. It is fun though.

I use a similar system but with seperate left and right ascenders on seperate slings and two foot ascenders. This allows the ascenders to spread with the rope if it is going over a larger limb, I can also use the same rig with one foot ascender and one sling attached to one ascender for the other foot for SRT. I find that if I take my time and use caution when going through brush there is little need for a back up. I also found it to be easier and smoother not to weight the rope from below.
I will try to post pictures and video soon.

I have tried it with out weight but found the climbing line does not flow through the foot ascender as well as the snakebite. And also working alone I needed to tie the saw on anyhow so I had it.
