Simply SRT

Depending on what type of rope your using the Stop will not creep. It works well with most ropes and runs smooth with the smaller diameter ropes.
I use it when making long descents and when transferring from tree to tree and long lateral traverses.
What I do is toss my throw-line through the tree crotch that I want to get to and lower the line down to the ground and let the ground folk tie on a single line. I then pull up the line and have the ground folk tie the rope off at the base of the tree. I then can use the microascender and small pulley to help me advance my self up or over.

The attached picture is just one way to lock off the Stop when positioning for work. Its not a matter of being right or wrong its just a matter of one way or the other.

The Stop is one tool that is quite rope-dependant. This is a common aspect of bobbin descenders. As there becomes less rope below they seem to creep a bit more. Since Robert has his setup in DdRT there is less load on the Stop so the characteristics are going to be different and creep should be less likely.

As always, tie stopper knots below the tool and Low and Slow.

Lets say once my buddy gets to the top of the tree he wants to maneuver around the tree. Got any ideas about super little and light dynamic systems.
I know this is not a SRT ? but my bud started the ? here. I like that STOP idea Sohner. Thanks
