Here are some pics of a crane job- a couple of pines with a deck around then and one up agin the house. Not the greatest shots but what ever it takes to keep you easterners in the AC!

me fixing to go aloft on my non osha sanctioned technique. Tree was down below the drive- rigging them was easy enough but then getting them to the staging area was going to be a biz-natch so we opted for the sky hook.

Going to look at chip dump spot w/goofy old neighbor- Right where I am sitting there is a big sticker that says don't ride here. Probably way more dangerous than the crane work.

What's "AC"?

What's it like to live where alot of people want to vacation??

It is short for "air conditioning". What is it like to live here? Stunning views. Incrediblbly expensive housing. Low humidity and very few bugs. I open my house up in may and usually don't shut the windows and doors until October. In a word "paradise". Don't tell any one- ok?

Awesome. I went to the Vail area a few winters ago and loved it, and I could see how it would be equally great in the summer.

Is it uncrowded? How is that beetle-kill of the conifers going?

Just to clarify: The day we had this job lined up I pulled out my oldish friction saver and found some questionable looking dings on the aluminum rings and decided to retire it on the spot. It was deemed less dangerous to tie into the hook than to use a compromised friction saver. Since then I have gotten a couple of new friction savers and will be utilizing them in the proper ansi approved tie in technique. I take the Z-133 very seriously and try to be as complient as possible while still getting the job done.

cory- uncrowded? Well let's put it this way- not as uncrowded as it was when I moved here in 92 but then again there are only about 45000 residents in the county where I live. What parts do you hail from?

Hey, Man, you've got to tell me about that crane, I've been looking at it non-stop since Manitex put it on their website. The chart looks incredible, but I can't tell how hard it would be to get into a tight spot...so tell me is it as hard to put in a tight spot as a 70ton Link Belt, or more like a 28 ton or 38(now 40) ton boom truck, or what? Tell me all about it, man...

Speaking of Manitex, I just returned from a 3 day road trip with my new 22 ton 22101S Manitex, new to me, a 2003. I will post some pictures and some observations as to how it stacks up to my recently sold Terex 3470, as soon as I get some sleep. The place where I had mine also had a brand spanking new 40 ton, and it wasn't any longer then my 22 ton as per parking spot size. 345 K or so.
