image.webp As you all know, today's harness has come a long way. If you like, show the world how you have it set up at the moment! Here is mine.

Here is my setup. Fairly happy with it, but want to add some more black gear loops. My chainsaw bridge is good for centering any heavy tools on the saddle- branch saver spool, drill, rope bag, etc.image.webp

I see two saddles with two of the blood stopper packs. I guess I know what should be in my next Treestuff order. Any other safety gear you don't leave home without?

It took me a while to trust it, but yeah, it's best I've ever used. Mine even tasted chain in its first week or so and has never gotten worse in a year's time. I'm looking forward to seeing your setup, btw.

Jba- I hope I never need it, but why not have it? Besides, its just a few bucks for a good lumbar support.

One of my favorite additions is the double lanyard. 20' can get a little tangled at times, but the ability to switch lanyard positions without unhooking the first or to triangulate for a difficult cut is such a nice option. It helps on transfers, too.

One more great piece- kong micro biner. Rated at 600 kg, it ain't ya mamma's key chain biner. I use them every day for so many things.

Ditty bag holds lanyard, 5 or so looprunners rolled with elastics, extra prussik, may be someother things. Ammo pouch has firstaid , 50ft of throwline and a light throwbag, and cell phone. Waterbottle, silky big boy, I prefer folding saws for some reason, and 3 biners, including a wiregate revolver, when not used in a 3:1 I use to clip extra slings, whatnot.

Love those Kong micro's. They are tough and cheap. I have a DEDA lanyard I made with OP and tendril I had laying around but it's not a good combo. My setup is not far from yours. I'll get a pic up soon.

image.webp Ok, two bridges (platinum) with RE swivels, main one backed up with some cordage, and set for adjustability with a ct roll n lock. Secondary has a swivel that is captured to one side with a shackle, to be deployed when needed.

-Knife and 8 oz. throwbag on left side.
-biner and strap for redirects or foot holds
-Prussic w/ ring for redirects and branch bypass
-Runner and bone. One goes on the rope, other for back up. Pretty much every climb
-steel biner for cinching anchor on a spar, and using a bite to lower myself away from a redirect point. And all other biner uses.
-first aid
-drayer lanyard
-two ended lanyard. Never leave the ground with out it. I use both ends nearly every climb. Front end is on the lower "d's" and has a chafe sleeve. Back end is on the upper d's. Mostly use front end. Back end will be used in tight quarters or small diameters, as the chafe sleep only allows the front end to get so short. I do a lot of "ladder" climbing up limbs with these keeping me secured.

All on a new tribe onyx. Which is such a great harness. It is light enough that I can carry all the crap I want and not feel like I am carrying bricks.

Mac. Not busting just asking. Why the bone and runner for back up? Why not just an 8? I'm always fascinated by what people carry and why. Also do you find a use for the adjustable bridge? I don't but I also don't have one, maybe if I did I would. Kinda like many other things I've picked up from here over the years.

Steve I also carry my second BDB as a backup. For me it just made more sense to have something that can be used to ascend with also. It also then can be used as a long secondary tie in if needed.

I am interested in seeing a picture of your harness.I enjoy reading your post and are curious how you have your harness set up.

I'm surprised by all the caritools and slotted 'biners for gear storage. It's also cool to see all the the SRT accessories and types of lanyards. At the risk of derailing this cool thread, I wonder how many folks climb on homemade lanyards...

I have a homemade 12' lanyard that has a lot of miles on it. It's arbormaster with double fishermen knots. Just got a length of New England ultra vee for a new one. This one will be spliced

No school like the old school!!

I usually add whatever else depending on the job. Wrench or Uni usually accompany for SRT work. Lockjack is always there on crane days. Other webbing, 'biners, and rigging gear as needed...
