recently switched to a rescue 8 vs the standard version (which I actually like more) not sure if it's going to stay a part of the load out ...

That is just a belt you've got your chainsaw lanyard brass snap clipped onto? : )

i did make that one a few years ago. it isn't anything special, basically its a treemotion custom fit to me out of leather. i made the mistake of using plastic from a home depot bucket as reinforcement. did you know that nothing sticks to that kind of plastic? i ended up using rivets to fix it in place, and now the plastic has worn and cracked and i just haven't got around to replacing it. saddle still works sweet thoView attachment 34800 View attachment 34801 View attachment 34802
I know it's not a competition but that's the winner in my book.

I like the Roll N Lock! I tried zip ties when I first got it, and there were a few things I didn't like. Compared to what Mumford demonstrates with his harness, the zip ties have less room on the Treemotion Dees and I found the zip ties to be too bulky and their sharper edges tight against the TM webbing gave me pause. I didn't want them to slowly cut into the straps. I also didn't like the Roll N Lock being tight up against the lower Dee metal to metal. I was also finding the webbing had less room to slide in THEIR slots 'cause the zip ties were hogging too much for themselves. My Solution...take it or leave it...was to use paracord to attach it (much softer and only needed one strand) and put a large rubber ring in between the Roll N Lock and the Dee. Pictures provided:

So I was fooling around with another idea for the Roll N Lock adjustable bridge. I am trying to consolidate and use things for multiple applications on my harness and see if I can't declutter a little.
I know it is a little more bulky, but think about all that this allows. I wanted to allow for an easy on off whereas the zip ties or cordage is more permanent. You now have a quick haul back system, a sparabiner, and so on and so forth...

IDK John, looks like another item to get snagged while up in the smaller branches of the canopy.

Yeah, I realize it isn't perfect. However, I feel that location already has a lot of straps and loops to catch things anyway and the carabiner is held tight against the body. I find branches more often get snagged on things hanging off the back of my harness...where I would normally hang a sparabiner.

But I am really just throwing the idea out there, you could be right. I will let you know how frustrated I get when I get some hours in with this new attachment. One thing I found was that you need to coordinate the linkage length to your preferred length of the TM strap. You can end up with the Roll N Lock carabiner bypassing the load from the strap if it is shorter than the strap.

Did you try the tie wrap and rubber stopper, to keep the CT From grinding on the D ring? It really keeps everything tight and compact. Without doing any damage to the gear. I've gotten very comfortable with mine, to the point that I don't even think about it! It's become very natural now. But, one setup doesn't work for everyone, as we well know. It's all about convenience and comfort. Almost muscle memory.

Are you talking about this?

In which case I have tried it.

I like that a lot, but was wanting an easy on off...so I could use the Roll N Lock for other things while my bridge is in full length mode.

Just got a 2nd one! You know that you can afford it!
That's why I bought a Kong Duck as a bridge adjuster and the CT for limbwalking, etc. it's 1/2 the price and does the same job!

Nice ! But wtf is 'sparabiner' ??? Progress capturing crab? Sorry, Google gives me 'did you mean parabiner?'
Best :)
Sorry, it's a term I adopted after hearing Eric W. (Oceans) use it. It just means a spare carabiner..."spara-biner". It's nothing you should have known or anything but I am always going to refer to them as such so get used to it! ;)
