Those are the remote retrieval gear. I run the rope through a washer on para-cord which stays attached to the tail of the line (I think that washer might not be visible in the photo). The other prussic is throw line and is attatched a smaller washer which I remove when running the rope through the pulley and use instead of a retreival ball (I think that's the washer you see in the photo). The smaller washer fits through the pulley but catches going through the larger washer and pulls the pulley back through the splice.Looks good, was wondering what’s going on with the washer and looks like a couple of cords near the pulley Prusik? Thanks for any info you choose to share.
Did a couple eyes splices on some Poison Ivy this afternoon...First ry on this rope. Damn that jacket is tight.

Beautiful job!! Did you un-do & rebraid the TEC to get the brummels on both ends? So far as I knew you had to unbraid one side to do that, yours looks so clean it's hard to imagine it was unbraided!!I'm starting to get the hang of the easy stuff. Going to re-try a double braid soon. As for the 12 strand, none of the instructions mention that you need to keep the bury really tight as you taper and milk it under. I spiked right where the tail enters the bury before I did the tapering, otherwise the bury starts to pull out and make the brummels look lumpy. Much better results this way.

Also a first E2E attempt with 1/4" Samson double braid. 20" prusik loop for my 12-strand neck tether. A Schwabish works better for this but this one came out stiffer than I'd prefer at the ends so a 4-wrap prusik it is. I had one made from tied ends that worked great in terms of length but the knots actually blocked the bird of my RR from returning to the upright position so I'd have a good 6" of sit back occasionally. Also I love this green cordage with the XSRE.
Ultrasling....A+!! I don't know how I went so long w/o making myself one lol!!Pics didnt load for some reason. Here they are.
($0.50 "lo wall" thimbles),
(1/2" steel rope thimble, heavy duty type on the ice tail in the foreground and regular variety on the blue moon behind it, these are a buck or a couple bucks)Thanks!! Honestly I was struggling trying to make a chest tether that 'sat right' (without it having to be "suspenders style", any "1 shoulder sling" did, as you say, 'bunch up' and become problematic so I abandoned it and still slide my prussiks up the line by-hand as I swap which foot I'm keeping my weight on@eyehearttrees I just prefer the smallness and location of the neck tether. I don't like chest harnesses for tending alone because they bunch up clothes and either move around too much or feel too snug. Also, this is just a piece of rope, a piece of hitch cord (any size works) and a small biner so it's cheap and easy. It also never gets tangled or twisted up inside a bag. Just a personal preference. In terms of danger, I understand the possibility of asphyxiation but see the chances of that happening as very low. You can slide the hitch down right off the end of the loop by design and that risk is gone, unless you're unconscious. Again, not impossible but for me low-risk enough for my comfort level.
