Shop Building Ideas

the mezzanine is a concrete deck so we use a pallet jack to move skids around it’s good for 60,000lb on the deck. Radiant heated floors heated with a propane boiler, ( didn’t want to me a slave to the wood boiler) main hangar door is 46’ wide 16’ tall Which is my favorite part next to the bridge crane. We built the shop with 22’ to the square so we have room to use our knuckle boom in the shop for repairs or new truck builds for when the 3 ton bridge crane isn’t enough. Bridge crane has a 56x100’ working area. Really happy with how it turned out just need to figure out an air filtration system as it gets pretty nasty when welding or painting in the shop.

What are the overall dimensions of the building? Any office space built in? Looks like it's all one open floor. Do you wish you had a weld/paint bay to keep the rest of the shop air clear? Do you have our wish you had a2 post lift or similar for oil changes and maintenance on the pickups and smaller rigs?

Awesome building, super jealous!

I have a location with our radiant tubing to mount a two post lift and I have the lift just have not put it up yet,
Main shop is 75x100 mezzanine is 25x50 and 25x50 leanto going to add on a 75x75 3 sided to park trucks Under. As the shop is usually full
Of projects.
there is office space in part Of the mezzanine. Yet to use the office yet still do that in the house. Bathroom on the first floor. When we add on I may do a paint booth. A paint booth big enough to fit grapple Trucks is a huge cost to swallow. Most of our welding is on large items we need the crane for so it really has to be in the main bay. We also have about an an acre and a half gravel lot for brush/wood storage and parking.
