Sherrill Rope Boss Bags??

Hey everyone, I'm noticing some buzzers on here have the new Sherrill Rope Boss gear/rope bags and I'm wondering what your opinions on them are. Seems like they would be perfect to keep your main gear in one bag. I noticed Mark C. has one, and a few others, so I'm sure they have been put through their paces.

Ordered one (XL Basic) last night, will let you know. 20% discount made it an easy decision.

Yeah, I think it would be foolish not to take advantage of that offer. I was thinking the XL Deluxe.

Watch out for trying to get everything in one bag. One of our common friends, that many of us know, stopped by the shop and was showing me this huge bag that he just got.

He loved the bag, but man! that sucker was pretty darn heavy. He found it pretty amusing however that he could barely lift the thing out of the car, let alone any serious distance to a tree, and this guy is pretty strong... We all got a good laugh out of it.

Bags are like ladies purses, no matter what size you got, it will always get filled with something and then you might be hauling around way to much crap you will never use.

I agree with ya there john. I ordered a weaver gear bag from wesspur a month ago. It held all of my gear but damn was it heavy. The bag actually split apart into 3 pieces. Wesspur, being equally awesome to me, replaced the bag with a better quality bag with no questions asked.

I'm now looking into a beach rolley, but I'm not payin 200 bucks, not when I could just buy human crane lunch once a week for him to carry my stuff

Hey ft, that happened to Dad today. Same big Weaver bag. Only had his saddle, rope, and helmet. Only stored in the back seat of the truck, hardly 2 weeks old. Like you said, Wesspur being so awesome, they agreed to give him credit so he can get a new bag, or a piece of gear.

As far as all the gear in one bag, I was thinking about that. I'll have to sort through my gear tomorrow and pile it all together to see what I would keep in the bag weighs.

Well you lug most of the gear around in the tree.. why not lug it around on the ground right? Or like FT with human crane.. taking a lesson learned from EZ... the man servant is a key part of tree climbing.

Hm, we do have our own human crane on our crew. And he will be the new, what's the word, green horn climber on the crew. So, green horn's get to lug around the bosses gear right?

I'm ordering an xl deluxe as well, I know, big suprise. Figure I should take advantge of the 20% off. I'm also getting the back pack suspenders because I'm pretty awesome.

The Backpack straps are on back order...fyi kinda stinks but I just strung in some climbing line until they come...the best and only way to carry that huge back is with backpack straps IMO...I have the xl deluxe and I fit a rope bag in there with 120 lava climbing line, probably 80 feet of poison ivy treemotion saddle helmit and I have so much more room almost 6 more inches to the top....

one thing I dont like is the biner loops that they have along the outside should have been placed in the inside....there is no place to hook your biners in the inside...i might custom this to make some loops on the inside

Otherwise I like the ropeboss bag quite a bit and 20% off you cant beat

Well Ranger the Greenhorn might get to lug the bosses gear around. Would you be the "boss" you are refering to? You are pretty "green" yourself. HAHAHAHA

Greenhorn huh? I would say I have plenty of experience to bust away from that title...

and no i carry my own gear

Treeclimber, my last post was not aimed at you. It was a joke for Ranger, and it was simply that, a joke. What made you think that it was aimed at you? No one carries my gear either.

I wasnt being serious...just saying something if it was a joke aimed at me...its all good...i didnt take it serious and sometimes i do carry someone elses gear to the tree if they are busy with the customer

I got the basic because I wasn't sold on the zipperd top with the holes. I think the only other differences are zippered vents and maybe a couple extra 'biner loops.

Haha, yeah, I am still 'green' myself!! But believe it or not, I have the most experience and knowledge out of our 3 crew members besides Dad. So when he's not on site, I'm the 'boss'.

And yes, I do lug my own gear around. Many times, I will end up lugging mine and Dad's around if he's on site or wants to mess with me.

That makes plenty of sense to me now. Why try to find you a man servant when you can help to produce a boy servant. Plus making them is have the fun. I see it all coming clear now.

Ranger I always carry my own gear, but I am the only one who packs up my own gear, you know cause it holds my life, and also so I can make sure that it is all there.

Ranger if you worked for me I would let you lug my gear around everywhere. I like the idea of having you as a "boy servant"!!! HAHAHAHA.
