This is the guy we've used for years. Older guy, not always the fastest turn-around, but does a good job sharpening or retipping with new carbides as necessary and his prices are reasonable. Use the Post Office flat rate box. You have to reinforce it with extra cardboard, but we usually ship him 100 to 12o teeth at a time, weighs 42 or so pounds and costs $12. Can't beat it!
You have to buy more teeth initially, but it works well once you have enough in circulation (for example, 50 good ones with the machine, 100 with James getting sharpened, and a box of dull ones in the process of filling up to send off to him).

Out of curiosity Jeff what is reasonable? I know I used to send all our circular saw blades out for sharpening (about $3,000 a year) until last year. Bought a machine for $1,000 and now were saving money. Any of the teeth I've seen appear to be fairly straight forward as far as grinding goes. Well at least from my background. There might be a business there or an invention so you guys can sharpen your own.

Grinding - Simple
My fingers typing what I'm thinking - I seem to have a problem with, lol

Thanks Jeff. This sandvik wheel is a bit new to me but I'm a bit perplexed at the teeth. The side teeth don't seem to do much, I get a lot more production keeping the fronts sharp.

I won't grind these teeth myself because I really want to limit my exposure to carbide dust.

ML, now that I put it out there and you asked, I can't seem to put my finger on the exact prices. I think $3 to sharpen, $7 to retip, or there-abouts.

How do you control all the dust if it's don't indoors? A vacuum or something?

Vacuums for quick stuff, if I will be there a while then I put my mask on. (Full face for dust and chemicals). If it's really bad then I get the forced air mask out and the AC unit.

Sadly, I must deliver the news that James Gordon passed away earlier this week. His wife called me to tell me that and sent the teeth back. She mentioned she may be selling his kit to someone who will take over his accounts but right now she had greater issue to deal with.
