sharp chain

I hate to admit this but without my glasses I'm screwing up my chains. The thing is that I only need glasses to read and close up stuff so I don't keep them with me all the time so half the time I try to file my chain with no glasses and sooner or later I'm cutting circles. Are there any of these guides that help keep things straight or do I need a grinder or something? Sure could use some help.

Guides are only good if you can see them. Griunders are great tools, but dont clear the gullets well, and IMO dont get a chain as sharp as you can by hand. even with a grinder, you still need to see the tooth so you dont blue it.

Looks like you need your glasses, or a second set.

I can relate.

I keep a pair of cheap reading glasses with my files so I always have'em when I sharpen.

Thanks guys. I was hoping for a quick fix. Guess I have got to get used to being somewhat blind. Sometimes old has it's challenges.
