sequoia

Right now the shipping date on all the 1st shipments from Petzl to dealers will be around the 25th. There was a small shipment that will fill some orders that came in earlier this week.

We should be shipping most orders on the 25th if not earlier based on the air shipment.

No, but I will be picking mine up towards the end of this week.

Looking forward to checking out the new bigger 'caritool' which is going to be supplied with the saddle!

Bailey's has been awesome in their support of this saddle.

ran mine today....this harness is sweet..i meen perfect, favorite harness i ever put on, bridge is only rated at 15 kn but looks and feels pretty substantial, only thing is the 2 rings are kinda big

about the bridge rating, i'm sure people are going to have a problem with it only being at 15kn, petzl says thats minimum breaking strenth, but it looks more heavy duty than the b2 and treeflex bridge,(all dyneema)

i think they rated the bridge that way because petzl is changing alot of their ratings, i bought a navaho about a year ago and in the owners book it shows that the front d ring is rated at 23 kn, now i bought a navaho this year and in owners book it shows the front d ring is rated at 15 kn,( have i been climbing on 15kn all this time) and they are the exacts same attachment points, i thing it was doug from karst sports who told me about petzl lowering their ratings, he droped in ealier on this thread

anyway I love it

Glad to hear it louis, sounds sweet! What harness did you run before you got the seqouia? That's really all I needed to hear, I'll probably get one.

Those rings do look BIG though. Are they meant to be used as attatchment points I wonder? I think I'd end up replacing them with smaller hardware or modifying somehow.
Thanks for the beta!!

How about the padding? Is it similar to the BFII, thicker or thinner? I had a Navaho, and the padding was minimal, a good saddle to use for small, quick prunes but not something I'd want to do a removal or hang in for a long time.

r t i had the b2 then treemotion, the best way i could descibe why i like the sequoia better is i would have to say it has more of a tactical fit, back pad is very thin and stiff, no bulkyness at all.only thing is it has a mesh cover over the inside of the back pad which i dont think will hold up

this harness would be very easy to modify if you want, and ya you can use the rings as attachment points ( it even shows that in the owners book)

i thought i was going to want to replace the rings but after using it i didn't mind them at all

i use a small biner hooked behing the webbing behind right d ring for hand saw and a kong paddle hooked behing the webbing behind left d ring for my chainsaw, it sets up nice (it comes with a petzl carry tool biner and a attachment for hand saw), i didnt use either, liked my set up better, oh ya and it comes wit a nice petzl bag

ronny b, the padding is thinner than the b2 but its a stiffer foam...i like it....it does have more support that the navaho, i liked the navaho, i used mine for everything- even crane removals (nobody ever agreed with me on that)

Just one more question louis, When tied into the bridge, does it pull the legs more than the waist, or both equally. I wore a Treemotion today and noticed it is designed to pull a bit more on the leg support than the waist. I think since I have a long torso and short legs it put me off balance a bit. Thanks alot!

Went out on a job today and cleaned out five Euc trees and tried out the new saddle , very comfortable and very light . I always use harness belts. I have a Navaho and a Bry-Dan harness belt , but this belt is the bomb!!

I like the comfort of the leg straps, for rec. climbing and small & big tree pruning, this belt is perfect! but for the big removals I will always use my Bry-Dan belt. I have some palms I'll be doing next week and I'll try an SRT climb on them.
