Sequoia Harness and ANSI rated

I hate to beat a dead horse, since there have been many postings regarding this topic, but I am looking to get a new harness and really like Petzl's line of products.

Does anyone have the ANSI wording concerning harnesses? Fall Arrest vs. Work Positioning...

I would appreciate any feedback that owners of a Sequoia have concerning this situation.

Do it. Its o.k., it's a for real tree harness.

Yeah it is a for real harness!! I love mine, and it has been approved in the New England chapter last year. Also i believe a few climbers at the international level had them as well.
Now about standards, this is a fine line. Others know more than i on this. I just know that the saddles is rate for 15kn in the bridge!! What can your hips take?
I will say though, it is NOT a durable saddle. I will be replacing mine in a year if I'm lucky might be sooner. I have had it only for a year now. So keep that in mind as you make your choice!!

Thanks for the info. If you don't mind me asking...what wore out the fastest on the saddle and did you use it everyday?

I got mine in June, and it still looks brand new. And yes I climb everyday. I disagree about the durability. I think its plenty durable. My TM wore alot faster.

Mine is wearing out where the webbing meets the aluminum ring. Not my bridge, but the webbing that holds the ring to the saddle. I have wear spots in three places. Something to keep an eye on thats all.
All I'm saying is i have had mine for over a year and climb everyday with it, and i will probably have to replace it in another year or sooner. I will post pictures so you can see the what i'm talking about!!!

Thanks everyone for the info. I'm new to TreeBuzz and value all of your opinions and reviews.

Is anyone near PA and going to the PennDel Shade Tree Symposium in Lancaster, PA?

Royce, i have the sequoia as well, and those spots that you are describing all are replaceable. The gold rings you can get for 15 bucks from sherrill.

How?? It's not the ring thats wearing out. It's the webbing that comes into it from the sides. I looked at them briefly the other day and do not see how you can replace those parts. I will have pictures to show you. However it would be awesome if i could just replace them. I too love this saddle and it fits me like a glove.
