I'm not implying anything like that, and my post was just meant to suggest that maybe he has had a problem for a while and just did a good job covering it up. I have bought from him in the past and it was a good experience, but this is looking bad.
 
Looking bad is mild. This is plain misrepresentation. He was peddling goods that probably never existed or B he was not sending. Why else the ghosting. As I said the wife knows whats up and ghosted also. Unlikely both are in same situation.

I doubt it was his wife even….. just a cover. I had his attention on a few private emails, then he went radio silent again. Read some reviews from clients on his Facebook profile, he’s been up to no good for years it seems. Half tempted to report something to a detective in the town he operates in.

Crazy! It’s a trip that so many of us did receive items from him in the past and they arrived as posted. His scheme or whatever the hell he was or is running must have hit a wall. Or he just decided to say F it and go for the full screw on everyone. Either way it’s a beating on hard working small business owning fellow Tree People! Scummy sh@t

Called the bank, they said the transactions were probably too long ago but they would look into it. Ehhhh
 
Meh….. I think the negative review/s I read were from 2020ish. The email he sent me the other morning he said he was suffering from “illness”. Until I get a refund he’s a thief in my book, regardless of the excuse.

I would love to not post in this thread at all, and I don't know anything about anything.

At this point it wouldn't surprise me if nothing is ever resolved. So in addition to all the other valid thoughts expressed I have this thought. I've dealt with Donny in the past and seen his dealings and postings for years. He was always a stand up salt of the earth kind of guy...about like you or me. He is now dead, disabled to a degree that he can't perform as he previously did (if you don't have much experience of him click on his screen name/handle, click on it again to go to all his previous posts on TreeBuzz to see) or got hooked on pain killers and is off the rails, or whatever. So what now?

How do you want to be remembered when you are gone? And if you left some people in the lurch but had previously done a lot of right by people? I don't have any answers and I didn't loose any money in this deal so who am I to talk? Not my place really. I just remember who he was as he posted here before.

When I add up the OP listings I get $415. One person mentioned being out close to $600 I think so something else must have come into the mix. If I was ahead of the game financially I would want to try and contact his wife and offer to cover all currently owed money in this situation...or if she is out of the picture default to doing that here. I'm not ahead really but I could chip in $100 so I've got some skin in the game. Whomever that would make a difference to, and to the degree you're out money on this deal, let me know and I'll send it along.
 
I’ve gotten lots of stuff from him too. Thought it was kinda weird that he wouldn’t take any payment besides a personal check, but he had a good reputation.
Some new X-static, some random new carabiners, pulleys, annd other hardware all from DMM, and a like new MS201TCM with 2 new 14” bars and chains… that’s kinda weird huh? Maybe sell off an old saw after it’s been replaced with something newer, but what tree guy is selling their new ms201tcm? I figured maybe he hated it and was a husky or echo guy. Now you got me wondering.
 
A lot of supposition and hate going around in here. And perhaps rightfully so. But, it's not going to accomplish anything. Donny is gone and it's doubtful he's ever coming back. If it can be done, ban him from the site. For those that have been wronged, I know it sucks as I've been there before, but dwelling on it only hurts you. Donny doesn't care what you call him or accuse him of. You're drinking the poison and expecting the other person to die. Cut your losses and move on to better things.

That is strong, but Donny is gone obviously. Time to move on. Easy if it was me. But not everyone is in the same position.

I am out close to $600. During our discussions with the other items he offered me a couple bags and some other ropes etc at an epic price so I bit. Long story short I agree with boom slang. It is what it is and carrying anger and resentment over it does nothing but hurt ourselves. It’s a few hours work for us and a shitty feeling in the out of the stomach about getting F Ed over. Life goes on.
 
The dude ain’t dead. He called me last Saturday morning (from my phone number on the “contact us” form on his website) Gave me an earful. The whole “if you knew what I’ve done for this industry”…… blah blah blah. After lecturing/scolding me, said he’d refund me within a week… haven’t seen a penny, or any notification of. I’ll post up the email chain leading up to the phone call in a few days if we still haven’t seen any refunds.
