SAKA flexibility testing.

I've been clipping mine to the harness, at full length, because I wasn't sure if the tubing you used inside the SAKA webbing would retain its shape if I bent/folded it up and stufffed it in my ditty bag. I guess I know, now! Thanks for this video, the thing is even tougher than I thought.

But wait! That's not all.....it also doubles as an all-in-one slingshot/throw weight line setting tool. :sisi:

Just get one....you know you want to.

I have been using my SAKA a lot and agree with Tom Dunlap that it is a real winner. I have been using home-made single bungie knee ascenders for SRT for many years, and the SAKA is a great improvement. But I don't think I will be beating mine up by trying to stuff it into my canopy bag!

One mod that I have on mine is that I use an OnRope1 stiff-step stirrup instead of the lightweight stirrup. It is a lot heavier and bulkier but it gives a lot of arch support.

I'm glad you liked it, thank you.

I have used a Yates foot loop that is similar to what you are talking about with the arch support. I agree that does make it nice depending on the type of boot you wear. One dropback is that the wider strap can also reduce your traction in the tree.

I tried the OnRope1 stiff step and while it added a degree of comfortable, I quickly replaced it with a foot loop similar to the one provided with the SAKA. My boots don't have a deep instep/tall heel and I like to leave the loop on in the tree, so the thickness of the stiff step made too much of a lump underfoot and had a much greater tendency to slip on a limb.

I think a small D ring or something similar stitched onto the top of the foot loop would be great. Every once in a while, when I clip into the foot loop, it grabs my boot laces and can be a total biatch to get out in the tree. This is my one and only issue so far after using the Saka for quite some time. Works awesome overall!

OR would even consider a brass snap of sorts stitched on that lower part of the Saka. Nice smooth nose for on/off

Mike, I hear what you are saying, I've had a similar issue just with the Arbpro clipNBoots. part of that comes from wanting that connection to be as close to the laces as possible.
One of my previous versions had a small piece added to isolate a loop on the top.
anyway, PM me your address again I'll send you one to try.

I use the petzl ange carabiner to clip into the strap on the clip n step. I often grab a lace but it slides out no problem at all.

I gave up on wire gates and the snaggy hook. I use a Kong Micro Carabiner. The key lock doesn't catch on anything.

What's the new "rubber" coating? Or did I just not notice it before? Looks like a nice anti-slip feature.
