Safety glasses are your friend.

Yarrr, matey, glad to hear it wasn't worse.
I wear prescription safety glasses - OSHA approved - kinda pricey but well worth it, they never come off my face. Side sheilds for these come in many different shapes and you gotta keep pushing your eye doctor to find the ones that fit your head perfectly. I usually take the sheilds off when home and once I misplaced them and had to wear goggles for a week, goggles suck to wear but are probably the most effective protection you can get. After this thread I think I'll start wearing my face sheild again too, at least on the ground. As for fogging problems, try washing your glasses with shave cream, really!

i secong raven. i have been using shaving cream on my ski goggles for years. as to the arborist side of things, just get that stuff in there clean it out REAL nice, then ive never really had a problem even while working groundie with a face mask. the hot air coming up from the mouth through the mask doesnt really affect as much as spit usually tends to.
and hey... if you really want to, pack up a can of shave cream for the work place, not only handy for the eye gear, but also for when your a bit gristly.
