saddle xs

has anyone out there used the saddle xs . I got one a couple weeks back, and an not real happy with it. The leg straps don't stay put with the padding in the back.

I've put some time in a Saddle X. The leg straps have been made smaller on the ones that were at Expo. The originals were too big. Tha back pad seems like it would be nice but it needs a bit of a pruning. The front suspension is innovative. Being able to adjust both upper and lower suspension has merit.

While I was using the X I never had the leg straps move. You could tie a half hithc stopper in the small webbing to keep it snug. I have to do that with the elastic webbing that holds the legs straps on my Butterfly II.

Interesting...havn't heard of it. I climbed on a new 'prototype' harness from Buckingham yesterday. It is apparently designed with competition in mind, based on the Master 2. It's a lot lighter, grey and black. Walking around on the ground it was awesome, snug fitting, and so light, even with my normal compliment of gear. I used to climb on the Master 2 for a couple years, gave up 'cause the upper tie in points cause the waist belt to pull up into your flaoting ribs. That began to cause me alot of pain, so I switched to a Glide, which I'm pleased with. This new harness did the same thing when it was sat in. If I were to fix the harness to my preferences it would retain the waist belt as its own part, the leg straps as their own part and a single webbing tie-in right at the pelvis, connected with short adjustable pieces of webbing, similar to Buckingham's other modular harnesses. I got to try the harness care of Wenda Li, who I have the pleasure of teaching arborist apprentices with at Humber College this winter.

Mangoes, yesterday I recieved a new version of the glide, they made a few changes and it looks good. I have not had a chance to work in it. But I will hang from it doing demo's for Veermer for the next 2 weeks.

Yeah, I was using the Glide when I helped out in Pitts. last summer. I like it mostly, the leg straps have been a little ornery. John Ransom got the new one early Jan. as his trophy for winning the OTCC last Sept. I was a little disappointed to see they fixed the leg straps....... from a financial point of view (now I want a new harness). I'm sure you'll like yours, did you get a short bridge or a long one?

...they fixed the leg straps

Do you mean they changed the buckles on the leg straps? If this is what you want, you should be able to get a free replacemnt set by contacting B'ham--although it may take quite a few phone calls. They sent me a prototype replacement set and are supposed to send me the latest design--that was a while ago, so I guess its time to make another phone call myself.

I got a chance to work in the new Glide. I find it quite comfy. The leg straps are adjustable and they seem to have fixed the problem of the adjusters gettin loose, they never moved on me. Definetly an improvment over the original. The buckles still are not as nice as the BF. They also took out the webbing bridge between the upper and lower rings, now there is just one set of rings keeping the center of gravity real low. The back pad has a ton of padding in it also.
