Saddle up a sister?

Good evening ladies,

I am out looking for a saddle, and it has been a few years since I've climbed. I plan to try on a bunch, but wanted to get some recommendations. Thanks in advance!

I and MrsMorningwood, If i can type for her
Like the Komet Butterfly2 - it has rainbow stitching

MORE to the fact - it is a light harness and is easy to adjust - i have an average waist (34) DON"T tell anyone that - and the small is nice.

There are a lot of old threads on the subject -

Suggestion - try on as many as you can get your hands on and body into- adjust them and hang on them.

The New Tribue is great for Rec climbing (I am a rec climber only) it has several.

Now in my mind - the one that I liked the best and I was able to test it out was the treeflex BUT sad to say it was not available at that time - BUT it is now.

First anwer this question - what do you want in a harness, Floating D, Adjustable leg straps, what type of buckles, how will you use it?

have a great day

hi magnolia, welcome to the buzz!

which saddle you're comfortable in depends so much on body type/size and climbing style that it's really hard to say. i'm 5'9" and 155 lbs with a fairly high center of gravity for a woman, and i want my saddle to be very "tweakable" (set-up options) and durable as it has to stand up to commercial tree work. the saddles i've liked best are buckingham's glide (heavy but built to last), edelrid's tree magic (super light, not quite as industrial strength), and treemagineer's tree motion (infinitely adjustable, very sturdy). all 3 have a sliding bridge, as the fixed attachment point saddles all chafe the hell out of my waste when i twist away from my tie-in. glide is probably the cheapest of the 3, and the easiest to find in the US. trying a bunch of saddles out is of course the best option, but not available to most of us.

good luck!

I agree that it all depends on what's right for you and your shape. Trying on all different sorts helps. If they don't have much of a set up to allow you to hang and sit, plus move around in it, then you could always ask to throw a rope up in a parking lot tree outside to try it out.
I have a Tree Flex and I love the bridge it has, plus it is comfortable, but sometime the leg straps easily move making it awkward. I probably need to metal with it to make sure I adjust it right.
I also have a Petzel Navajo which I love it being so light weight. No bridge, but it's great for most of the competition events.
