Rope Wrench Tethers

I know that this has been addressed, but it all got mixed in throughout the 11+ pages of the other RW threads.

What do you guys like the best as a tether for the RW? I was using the Thimble/Tech cord, but the RW and girth hitch the RW would slide around when I had my lanyard hooked in the thimble, usually resulting in the RW sitting on top of my hitch, so nothing would engage, which was a problem. I switched that out with a 17 cm Petzl Express runner (has a rubber 'boot' on one end which keeps the RW in place and prevents tangle-age). I have yet to try it out, but I remember seeing something similar to that some where, but cant remember where. the only drawback I can forsee is not having that thimble to clip into. I'll post more when I try it out.

Anyways, whats been working for you?

If this thread is totally redundant, sorry. (get over it or do something about it :)

I've been using a loop runner girth hitched to the rw and a dog snap that connects to my hitch climber. Tried using a biner but it seemed too flop around a too much, dog snap feels right. I also tried the thimble/tech cord with the lanyard over the shoulder for ascent and didn't like it. Just didn't feel comfortable for me but I didn't really give it much time either. Good news is the thimble now stays on the end of my lanyard teufelberger style. I also put it at my tip with revolver and tail to create a 3 to 1 on removals that I have to go up and down on a bunch.
