Rope Wrench / Hitch Climber Question

Reporting back on the supremacy of michoacán... Far superior to the distel and others I’ve tried with the RW. Thank you all!

Was reading another RW thread and saw a suggestion to push the wrench up slightly at the end of your ascent, before weighting your harness, to prevent setback that will interfere with removing your knee and foot ascender. Does that make sense? I’ve experienced a minor/annoying choking sensation with my makeshift chest harness and pretty sure it’s more technique than gear related... Any help here is much appreciated.

I’ve set two more bank lines (pre set lines to aid in rope setting) in a large water oak on my property and will start climbing and pruning it soon. Looking forward to getting back up in the trees and thankful for all your guidance.

:risas::sisi::sisi: i use ct foot ascender. On more than one occasion ive ended up with my ankle approaching my waistline as i try to get the necessary slack on the ascender to get the sharp teeth to release from the rope. Fun times for anyone watching me struggle!

I use the ct foot and haas velox, and yup... climbing is definitely helping my hip flexibility. Got to be a technique to minimize this?

Exactly as you said, pull it up more than slightly even, as high as you can. Makes fidgeting about to remove all that stuff much less ridiculous

Ha! Been there/done that. I'm always glad when I don't have an audience when that happens. I haven't done that in a while. It's most entertaining when you do that where your hitch setup is at the TIP--can't go up any higher!
