I'm used to climbing on a 1/2" line but alot of the new lines I'm seeing are 7/16" if anybody has any pros or cons I'd love to hear them. This is for a work climbing by the way, not really into to many comp. climbs. Thanks

I started out on 1/2 inch and now i'm using 11mm I really like it. It runs through my foot ascender much better and it is lighter. The only bad thing that I have found is it will make your grip sore after long full days of climbing with it.

What hitch do you use? Do you wear gloves when you climb? Do you mind a heavier rope? How often do you replace your ropes?

Answers to these questions (and more) can help us help you decide which rope is best for you.

I like 11mm because I can fit more rope into a small bag.

Ever since Fly came out I haven't climbed on half inch rope.

There are some trade offs but they are so small and pretty insignificant. If you want to have better grip on the smaller rope get Smurf Gloves :)

My 200' of Tachyon is the same volume and weight as 150' of KMIII. Amazing difference!

Hey guys thanks. Unless it's winter or I'm running alot of ropes for rigging I don't wear any gloves. I don't use mechanial accenders. I use a bee line prusik cord for footlocking (rarely) usually I run an ice or a bee line eye 2 eye on a swabich. the wieght doesn't bother me so much I started out on 1/2" double braided nylon so really I can only go up from there.
