Rope Runner

Love that. It's where I was with the sDdRT a while ago but a much much MUCH better way, and much easier to run one Runner than 2 hitches. That's really genius. I totally see the advantages. You can climb SRT with movable canopy anchoring.
JohnnyPro, did you widen your Rope Runner to fit those lines?

Very cool JohnnyPro! I love looking at new ways of doing things and I have never seen this before!
Almost looks like running a Petzle Shunt with a couple of munters but of course MUCH better.

You should start a separate thread on this technique but I think we are pushing the acronyms of DRT to the max now.

Now that's where I want to be 2 foot acsenders, double line , but through one device . I had been thinking a second BDB , but this is much better. If my memory serves me correctly Surveyor may have said he had or was working on another BDB for 2 lines ?

Someone will have to explain the advantage to me. I see 2 lines, maybe full rating maybe twin rated but in either case they are next to each other. Cut 1 and I'm pretty sure you will cut both, maybe not. But if 1 is cut and you are then hanging by 1 is the device you have set for 2 really going to work with just one? I guess for the simple fact that 2 is more than 1 I guess it has extra safety but I think 2 separate systems while being slightly more cumbersome also provide a higher safety factor. Nothing against you Johnny, I love the concept but I must be missing something.

That would be my concern, is pulling it apart, just like the spread is not allowed using the Shunt.
Frank, I think it is all about movement, built in redirects etc. in the tree and the flexibility that is provided, not so much two ropes for added safety although, depends on how they are anchored.

Looks like a pretty slick set up. It doesn't seem like the ropes pulling apart above or below effects the grab. Very smooth. I like it. Wonder how it would work with two different size lines. Say ten mil and some skinny rock line.

Ive got two 150ft 8mm double braids lines (essentially teufelberger Sirius, different name). It worked well with the runner, I just never gave it enough time to really see the benefits. Two foot ascenders doesn't work that well because it tends to want to saw the ropes back and forth. They feed fine doubled up in a regular ropewalking system.

I often use two ropes, 2 rope runners, and two foot ascenders. It is a very nice assent. There is a video somewhere of me doing a hundred feet on a crane at Jambo. @macswan does this Ascent style often. I have never tried the two ropes in one rope Runner. Johnny Pro has a video of him flying up the Rope with 2-foot ascenders somewhere with two ropes in one Runner. I'll look around and see if I can find them
