Rope chart questions

Thank you for bringing our topic to the Buzz. We got some good feedback on our FB page, but the more feedback, the better!

It shouldn't be considered a question of believing one manufacturer or supplier over another. To my knowledge, everyone is using correct information.

The problem is the different ways to express tensile strength. Some list minimum, some list max, and some list the average with a splice. If two companies sell Safety Blue, and one lists it with it's minimum tensile, and the other the maximum, at a quick glance it'd appear as though the second company's Safety Blue was stronger some how.

We just want to present the info as clearly as possible, but also make sure it's the info you want to see. Which was the heart of the question we posted.

We're working with the rope manufacturers now to make sure all specs are correct for the website and our catalogs moving forward. With so many ropes, and more being added all the time, specs are a key component to buying decisions.

Please be consistent with each product so we can compare apples to apples. I hate when I go to the product specs and find one has all sorts of detail while another says next to nothing or has a different set of specs that don't correlate with the comparable product! Specify the spec your listing. Be clear and explicit. If it's the minimum then say that!
