Don't know if any of you guys have seen this one from Kong
Its a single or double rope decender and can also be used to accend the line much in the way you set up the I'D And it looks cool

I've looked at the Robot for a long time. Have you used it in ascender mode? Is it a hands-off operation?

Hi Tom,
Yeah it locks itself if that is what you mean by hands off you still have to pull the rope through of course.I was looking at it more as aself belay or pole rescue belay???

Have you used the Robot? I wonder if the sliding bar will move down to allow the rope to slide but then slide up smoothly to lock off?

Hi Tom I don't use SrT so much but I will try it out this week sometime for accending and let you know,I have the same reservations myself regarding the action of the slide under load.

Not really, an eight twists the rope which can lead to really bad hockles in braided ropes. The Robot is more related to a rack.

Have you looked through Storrick's site? He has an incredible collection of gear, including a Unicender
