There was a link to a test done on the bending of the cable. It took thousands of flexes to break the cable. It broke on the tree side where I figured it would.

The system does have merit. The catch is that there isn't a place in the ANSI A300 cabling standards to cover the use. I'm not against innovation. It does make sense to understand the limitations though.

It does seem like a good system since there is less damage to the tree.
