And I have a quick related question? What do people prefer to use to prevent the prussik from getting “sucked” pulled into the pulley system? I’ll try to add a picture
First, I would match your pulley to the rope size. Your pulley is too wide for the rope you are using to be effective at stopping the hitch. Second, try a hitch that has a wide base. Something like a Michoacan so it has something to run up against the side plates of the pulley.

I;ve got a block n tackle setup where that was an issue.

I made up a 'washer' out of some 5/16" or ⅜" Delrin. The 'washer' might not work though. In some setup I could see that it got lined up wrong and that would prevent the friction hitch from grabbing. Careful!
