RG100 in action

Dayum, quick work.

Stumpings too dirty for me.

Dude! Why such a short vid?? Let's see 5+ minutes to get a feel for how it acts.

How did you get to run the prototype??

Is that a Deutz or the water cooled Kubota? It's taller than the RG 50 etc, is it top heavy or are the elevated components relatively light wieght?

I've heard some say the RG 100 is too powerful for it's weight, what do you think?

Is the recyling of the chips a drag on cutting speed/procuction? Or is there so much power, it doesn't really matter. A longer vid would help us see that aspect too.

Why the near total lack of interest in stump machines on TB?????

I said I like the looks of that machine. We have an RG50 Turbo, and it's the bee's knees.

This one looks like the bee's knees and the bee's feet.

Sorry about the short video. I keep them short so I don't have to sit here all day uploading. I have some more vid's I'll try to post them. I live a half hour away from the factory, and I'm in the market for a new machine, so they let me run it. Great people out there! It has a water cooled Kubota, thats why it higher, for the bigger radiator. Engine height is the same as the older style. Machine is still stable. My biggest complaint so far is the awlful blind spot it makes pulling it down the road. Not used to it. Its not too powerful for its weight, but IMO they could stand to beef it up some more. I'm kind of waiting to see an all new design. It cutts great, and like every other portable it recycles chips. It slows it down a little, but if you know what your doing, its hardly noticable. Check out my post of the Vermeer 1152

We need our own section to talk about cutting utilites, breaking windows, grinding concrete and bricks, cutting downspouts, hitting tires/chains, worse yet chain link fence,( you only have to get too close one time and then you learn!) Stubborn customers who don't understand what "don't stand in front of the machine means"

even after you ask them 4 times. breaking bolts, breaking machines... so on and so forth.. etc. etc. etc. Is it snowing yet?

Cool.

Thats cool too! Do they let you run it in return for your feedback or is there a charge?

Just use sideviews??

Where do they need more beef?

Is that likely given that this is a partially new design already? What did Rayco say about your comments?

What are the options to avoid too many chips slowing down the cutting process, other than pitch forking/dozing/head swinging them out of the way, or repositioning to a spot free of chips? All those things also make a bigger clean up job.

Thanks for all the info!

Now all this is just my opinion. Not everyone will agree with me-
1. Rayco takes real good care of there customers. The day I had this I was out with the engineer who headed this project. It was the first time it was out and he wanted to see what it could do.
2.The blindspot comment was kind of a joke, but its not as short as the other machine I'm used.
3. Pins on the swing cylinder, lift cylinder. The new boom is nicly reinforced, but still room for improvement. I hate the tires and wheel setup, when you take the outer wheel off it seem like too much machine sitting on that little tire.
4.I'd say it could only get better from here for them. to me it seems like they have a good start, but still need more. Alot has gone into the mechanicals of the machine more than the looks.Alot has been changed thats not real noticable. For example the cutter drive system. Seems like they didnt listen to much to what I had to say, and did it there own way. I just run it all day, I'm not an engineer, but I can still see what would make it better-in my opinion.
5. Larger chip capacity, something like a tow behind would have. That leads me right back to I'm not an engineer :)

Hey Stumpman,

I need some advice. I am close to buying a RG1645 with the 44 hp kubota. I know you are thinking go bigger, but I have a budget and this is an upgrade from my vermeer 252.

My question is have you ran this machine or know someone who has, if so what did they think? I am really hoping for the best, I will be buying this machine without ever running it. I know that probably sounds crazy, but in Montana we are limited as to where to get tree equipment. We have one vermeer dealer for the entire state and thats it.

Any imput you can give me would help a ton.

Thanks

I have not got to run the 1645. I've asked a few times, but still have not got it. There is a guy that live close to me bought the first one. I'll send you his number. I really like the way they built this machine. the super jr frame was a good set-up, the high cutter wheel and extra flaps allows for some chip capacity. only time will test the gearbox, but vermeer has done well with it. the drive chain should have zero issues.
